Artist Onboarding Policies
The Artist Onboarding process is designed to ensure that every artist joining Artsays meets the platform's quality, authenticity, eligibility, and compliance standards. Through this process, Artsays verifies artist identities, reviews submitted information, evaluates artistic profiles, and confirms that applicants satisfy the requirements to participate on the platform.
The onboarding process helps maintain a secure, transparent, and trustworthy marketplace for artists, buyers, collectors, and other users. Completion of the onboarding process does not guarantee approval to sell on Artsays. Artsays reserves the right to request additional information, conduct further verification, or decline applications where necessary to protect the integrity, security, and reputation of the platform.
2.1 Registration
Artists wishing to join Artsays must complete the registration process by creating an account and submitting all required information through the official onboarding process.
During registration, artists may be required to provide personal information, professional details, portfolio information, identity documents, banking details, tax information (where applicable), and any other information reasonably required to assess eligibility and facilitate platform services.
Artists are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted during registration is accurate, complete, current, and truthful. Providing false, misleading, incomplete, or fraudulent information may result in rejection of the application, suspension of platform access, or other actions in accordance with applicable Artsays policies.
2.2 Verification Process
Following registration, Artsays may review the information and documents submitted by the artist to verify identity, eligibility, artwork ownership, authenticity, professional information, and compliance with applicable platform policies.
The verification process may include, where applicable:
- Identity verification.
- Portfolio and artwork review.
- Verification of professional or business information.
- Banking or payout verification.
- Tax or regulatory compliance verification.
- Requests for additional documents or clarification where required.
Verification is conducted to maintain marketplace trust, reduce fraud, protect artists and buyers, and ensure compliance with applicable legal and operational requirements.
Verification timelines may vary depending on the completeness of the submitted information, the nature of the verification required, and the volume of applications being processed.
2.3 Application Review & Decision
Once the verification process is completed, Artsays will review the application to determine whether it satisfies the platform's eligibility, authenticity, quality, and compliance standards.
Following the review, an application may be:
- Approved.
- Conditionally approved, subject to additional requirements.
- Placed under further review.
- Returned for additional information or corrections.
- Rejected where platform requirements are not met.
Artsays evaluates applications based on factors including, but not limited to:
- Compliance with eligibility requirements.
- Verification results.
- Accuracy and completeness of submitted information.
- Portfolio quality and originality.
- Compliance with Artsays policies.
- Legal or regulatory requirements.
- Fraud prevention and platform security considerations.
Artsays is under no obligation to approve every application and reserves the right to make the final decision regarding artist onboarding.
2.4 Account Activation & Ongoing Compliance
An artist account will be activated only after the onboarding, and verification process has been successfully completed and the application has been approved by Artsays.
Once activated, artists may access the platform features available to their account type and begin listing or selling artworks in accordance with applicable Artsays policies.
Artists are responsible for maintaining continued compliance with all applicable platform policies throughout their use of Artsays. Where necessary, Artsays may conduct periodic account reviews, request updated information or documentation, require re-verification, or temporarily restrict certain platform features to maintain marketplace integrity, comply with legal obligations, or protect the interests of the Artsays community.
Failure to maintain ongoing compliance may result in corrective actions, including temporary restrictions, suspension, or termination of the artist account in accordance with the applicable Artsays policies.
